Give liquid medications to your dog

Giving liquid medications can be easier than a pill for some dog owners.
Smaller dogs tend to be more difficult with pills because of the size of the mouth.
This method can also be used to give water by mouth to sick dogs.
The mouth does not need to be opened wide to get a liquid medication or water into it.
Your dog needs to feel comfortable with you holding the nose and restraining head movement.
With your hand over the top of the nose, grasp the nose and upper jaw elevating the head.
Using an eyedropper or syringe, insert the device into the mouth back of the large canine teeth.
With a smooth delivery, inject the medication (water) into the mouth onto the tongue.
As the dog swallows inject more medication until the proper amount has been given.
Start getting your dog familiar with this process as a puppy and your life will be much easier when medications have to be given.
