Need a Dog That's Good With Kids
I have two children, one of whom is only four years old. We are interested in buying a dog and want a smaller animal that will get along well with the kids. Our first consideration is a Boston Terrier. Is this a good choice for us? Are there other breeds that you would also recommend?
The Boston Terrier is a great choice. They are known as the Little American Gentleman. They are great with kids and very easy to train. They are a true American dog- one of the only true purebred dogs originating in the United States. The Boston Terrier was developed in the 19th century by cross breeding an English bulldog and a white English terrier. They shed minimally and requires only occasional brushing and bathing. Other good choice for kids that are small are the Bichon Frise (great dog, highly under rated), Papillon, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Pug (another great dog). Take your time in your decision and do your reading on the different available breeds. Do not over look Random Breeds available at the shelter.
