- There is only one reason for muzzling your dog.
- The muzzle protects you and others from being bitten.
- Using a commercial product or applying a homemade device will work.
- Most people do not have a commercial muzzle unless their dog is aggressive.
- These products are sold in most pet supply stores.
- They come in several sizes.
- If you purchase one, make sure it fits securely and is made of strong material.
There are 2 types of material that work well to muzzle the dog:
- The leg of a nylon hosiery
- One inch bandage tape when using the nylon, tie this material around the nose with the knot under the jaw.
- Take the ends of the tied nylon and tie them again behind the ears.
- The dog can breathe but not bite.
- When using bandage tape, wrap the nose about 4 times making sure the end of the tape is free to grasp for removal.
