Magic Potion
Magic Potion
Dogs often lick their sutures after surgery. This can be a real concern and can hamper the healing process. Here is one alternative to the bulky Elizabethan collar and other techniques that make everyone involved frantic. Try gently patting some Magic Potion on the incision (without disturbing the skin or sutures). This potion is also great for kitchen burns and human cuts and owies, too.
Here's the recipe:
- 50% Aloe Vera gel (from health food store -- best from refrigerator, if you can find it)
- 50% vitamin E oil (from cosmetics section of drugstore)
- Put in a new travel bottle the size of a perm wave bottle.
- Add 1 capsule Golden seal Root (health food store).
- Shake well and store on the refrigerator door.
- Safe if critters lick it off, too, because it's good for them on the inside. This stuff speeds up healing and soothes owies so much, it's liable to stop any itching or burning that is causing the dog to lick in the first place.
