Known Problems With Rottweilers
I recently bought a rottweiller, female. I wanted to know if they are violent, and I want you to let me know of some possible illness that occur to them most often. Also how loyal is he to his owners.
Great question! Difficult answer. The Rotti over the past few years has been under scrutiny. Certain groups of people have been giving them bad publicity because they are raising this dog to live up to is aggressive tendencies. The Rotti with the wrong owner and wrong intentions can be a deadly combination. They are a large powerful dog that can be menacing just standing there. There is, however, another side to them. If raised properly they can be a very loving, very loyal, very peaceful dog. To achieve this you have to first start out with good stock and bloodline. The breeder has to be top notch. They must breed for temperament and sound body. The future of this dog depends on how the population raises this dog and what they use them for. The Rottweiler is not for everyone. They must attend obedience training at around 6 months of age and must be watched around children. The known health problems with them are, hip and elbow dyspepsia, deafness and when they are young they are prone to parvovirus, a deadly puppy virus. They are also prone to neurological disorders and kidney failure. When reading the health problems associated with them keep in mind that all dogs heave health problems. This breed is very loyal and will stand by their master's side no matter what. Make sure that you enroll in obedience classes and do not raise her aggressively.
