Find a groomer
Find a groomer
There are breeds and types of dogs that require a groomer to help care for them. Bathing and clipping a dog requires both patience and skill. A firm hand is often necessary to get the job done without injury to the dog or the groomer.
The following is a list that helps to qualify a groomer as professional and trustworthy:
- Ask friends and neighbors which groomers they trust with their dog.
- Visit these groomers and ask to see some of their work and a list of references. Call the references.
- Find out how long they have been doing this type of work.
- Ask your veterinarian for recommendations.
- Ask if they like doing the type of work that you are requesting them to do.
- Ask them to quote a fee for the service that you are requesting.
- Find out what their policy is if they injure your dog when working on it.
- If you are satisfied with the answers, give that groomer a try.
The results will determine if you go back a second time.
