Take care of teeth
- From the time your dog has acquired its adult teeth, they undergo changes.
- Without proper care by you and your veterinarian, the teeth can become damaged, infected, and lost.
- It is recommended that you start brushing your dog's teeth while still a puppy.
- Having a tooth brush in the mouth can be frightening for an adult dog.
- Take 2 minutes and attempt this procedure daily.
- Use an enzymatic dog toothpaste or spray that you can get from your veterinarian or local pet supply store.
- DO NOT use human toothpaste.
- Have the teeth checked whenever the dog is examined by your veterinarian.
- Check the teeth at home for tartar buildup on all teeth -- including the back teeth.
