Check for dogs tapeworms
Tapeworms are an intestinal parasite found frequently in the dog. If you take a stool sample into your veterinarian, it usually will not exhibit tapeworm eggs.
This parasite passes segments that appear in one of two places:
- As a moving white-colored segment about 0.25 inches long on the surface of the stool.
- As dried segments that look like small grains of rice around the rectal opening.
They do not move. Remember, this parasite has the flea or the wild rabbit as its intermediate host.
