Collect dog feces
Collect dog feces
For most dog owners that routinely take their dogs to the veterinarian, collecting a fecal sample or stool sample is easy. But for the new dog owner, some guidance may be needed.
- The fecal sample is necessary to determine a variety of conditions.
- The primary reason is to determine the presence of parasites.
- It is important that the stool collected is fresh or collected soon after the dog has had a B.M. Place the stool in a plastic container and refrigerate if it is not to be examined that same day.
- One way to do this is to take a sandwich bag placed over your hand and pick up the sample inverting the bag.
